最初投稿 Coverletter
介绍
Cover letter是编辑对论文的第一印象，也是初步评判你论文是否可以被期刊接收的重要依据（如果编辑看完Cover letter之后没有兴趣也没有，就没戏了），因此Cover letter的撰写是非常重要的。
完整的Cover letter一般包含以下内容：
- 期刊编辑的姓名（不知道编辑是谁的情况下直接用Dear editor）;
- 投稿文章的标题
- 投稿文章的类型（Letter, communications, article, review还是comments）
- 文章简介，包括：(1)研究背景；(2)论文的重要发现；(3)论文可以发表在期刊上的原因：引发读者兴趣的地方，与期刊的契合之处等等
- 稿件出版道德规范的免责说明（这个部分很多期刊在网站上投稿时会进行确认，cover letter里面可以不出现）以及对稿件有无特殊处理要求（一般指屏蔽某些竞争者成为审稿人）
- 作者信息：一般为通讯作者姓名，所属机构，通讯地址，联系电话，邮箱等
- 推荐审稿人名单（注：目前很多杂志社已经将这一部分挪到了投稿网站系统上，Cover letter中可以不再列出

催稿信
很多作者等待很久仍不见审稿意见，难免会有抱怨。但是，在写催稿邮件时不要把情绪带到里面，催稿邮件的内容要婉转、语气平和；注意不要频繁催稿，掌握一个合适的频率。可以对自己催稿的原因作一个简单的说明，比如即将毕业、申报职称、课题即将结项等等，此外还要注明文章的编号、标题、投稿时间等基本信息。

在写修改说明前，我们应该明确看修改说明的人关心的什么?毕竟，修改说明最重要的目的是让看这份材料的人，能清楚明白的知道专家问了什么问题、作者做了怎样的解释、文中什么地方关于这问题作了修改。

返稿延期申请
如果返修意见中需要补充的内容太多，杂志给的返修时间不够，这时就需要在时限之前给编辑去信申请延长修稿时间。杂志编辑通常也会在返回评审的邮件中提到这点，所以只要合理，放心去申请就好。
